What admonition about the last days does the world forget while waiting for Middle East peace?
While the world awaits a semblance of Middle East peace from the man of sin, it forgets the admonition that when these things come to pass, we should lift up our eyes because redemption is near. Instead of focusing on the seen, we should look at the unseen.
Les teaches that the world is rushing to the time when the man of sin will appear and finally bring a semblance of peace to the Middle East, which is what everybody is waiting for. While waiting for that peace, they forget the admonitions that when these things come to pass, we should lift up our eyes because our moment of redemption is coming near. Les also points to exploding technology, global politics, global economics, and religions and major denominations coming under one headship as signs that the time is short. He then returns to the verse, saying not to be concerned about the things that are seen, but rather to look at the things that are not seen.
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
