How does the Holy Spirit put someone into the body of Christ?

The Holy Spirit places a person into the body of Christ as part of God's salvation work. This placement is not about membership in a congregation, but about being joined to Christ's body. Once a person enters God's salvation, the Holy Spirit performs this placing, resulting in eternal life and the hope of glory.

Les explains that the Holy Spirit's placing of a believer into the body of Christ is part of God's salvation work. He connects the body of Christ to the book of Acts, where Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, preached the gospel of the grace of God and called out the body of Christ. Les stresses that it is not important which congregation a person belongs to—Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, or whatever—but whether one is a member of the body of Christ; without that membership, a person is eternally lost. Once a person has entered God's salvation and experienced the Holy Spirit's work of placing them into the body of Christ, they have eternal life, eternal salvation, and the hope of glory. Les also notes that the body of Christ is a revelation given only to the apostle Paul, a mystery never mentioned or alluded to in the Old Testament or in Christ's earthly ministry.
