When does the Holy Spirit put a believer into the body of Christ?
The Holy Spirit places a believer into the body of Christ the moment they believe the gospel. This baptism is an act of God, not any denomination or organization, and it occurs immediately as a result of salvation. It is received by faith, not by feeling, and joins genuine believers worldwide into one body.
Les teaches that this baptism is something no organization or denomination can adhere to; it is beyond that and only the invisible Almighty Spirit of God can do. It happens the moment we believe the gospel, as seen in the previous program. It is one of the results of salvation: immediately the Holy Spirit places us into the body of Christ. The whole worldwide congregation of genuine born-again people then becomes part of the body of Christ. Les explains that this is an act of God, an invisible, unfeeling act, so we cannot say we felt it being done; we take it by faith. Paul says all are placed into the body, whether Jew or Gentile, bond or free—an equalizing factor. Les illustrates this by how genuine believers are never strangers very long; entering a group of believers feels as if you had known them all your life.
