When did the Tower of Babel happen in biblical history?

The Tower of Babel occurred approximately halfway between the sons of Noah coming out of the ark and the call of Abraham, during the post-flood era when people under Nimrod rebelled against God's command to scatter and repopulate the earth.

Les explains that the Tower of Babel happened about halfway, approximately, between Noah and the sons coming out of the ark and the call of Abraham. It was a total rejection of God's instructions to repopulate and scatter around the world. Instead, that group coming from the sons of Noah rebelled against God, stayed in the area of the Euphrates in Mesopotamia, and under Nimrod gathered at the Tower of Babel. Les notes this is where the beginning of all pagan religions occurred—all Eastern religions, idolatry, and mythology have their roots at the Tower of Babel. God then scattered them, and idolatry took over the human race.
