Where and by whom was the Tower of Babel built?
The Tower of Babel was built in the plains of Shinar, in Mesopotamia within the Euphrates River Valley. The united human race, still of one language and blood, constructed it under Nimrod in the middle of the roughly 400-year interval between Noah and Abraham.
Les teaches that after Noah, the human race multiplied from his three sons but remained one language and basically one blood. They all met in the plains of Shinar, in Mesopotamia in the Euphrates River Valley, and there built the Tower of Babel. Les explains that at the Tower of Babel under Nimrod, Satan instituted all pagan and mythological religions, so every idolatrous religion began there. By Abraham's time around 2000 B.C., the then-known world was steeped in idolatry and mythology, and God found one man with a spark of faith.
