What did the builders of the Tower of Babel do to disobey God?
Rather than obeying God's instruction to repopulate and scatter across the earth, the builders stayed in the Euphrates region of Mesopotamia. Under Nimrod they gathered at the Tower of Babel, directly rebelling against God. This disobedience became the root of all pagan religions and idolatry.
Les explains that the Tower of Babel was a total rejection of God's instructions to repopulate and scatter around the world. Instead of scattering and populating the earth, the people coming out of the sons of Noah rebelled against God and stayed in the Euphrates area of Mesopotamia. Under Nimrod they gathered at the Tower of Babel. Les teaches that this is where all pagan religions began—everything contrary to the one God concept, including Eastern religions, idolatry, and mythology, has its roots at the Tower of Babel. God then scattered them, and idolatry took over the human race.
