What happens when you mix paganism with Christianity?
Mixing paganism with Christianity is spiritual adultery, prostituting the truth of the Word of God. Religious systems that adulterate God's things commit this spiritual fornication. The kings of the earth commit fornication with this system, and inhabitants are made drunk with the wine of her immorality. God will judge it.
Les explains that the adultery in view is not physical immorality but spiritual adultery. It occurs when religious organizations take practices from the pagan world and mix them with New Testament Christianity. Any time paganism is mixed with Christianity, that is prostituting the truth of the Word of God. The 'whore' described in Revelation is not a woman of the street but a system that has adulterated the things of God. Verse 2 says the kings of the earth have committed fornication with this system, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her immorality. Les emphasizes that God is going to judge it.
