At the midpoint of the tribulation, how extensive is the beast's power and the false prophet's religious system, and what remains the focus of Revelation?

Les explains that by the midpoint of the tribulation the beast's power becomes worldwide, resulting in a world government, and the false prophet also will have a worldwide religious system. Both are global, and the whole earth will be involved. But, as Les stresses, never lose sight of the fact that the vortex of all the activity in Revelation is still the nation of Israel. Israel remains the vortex, while all the world comes under these various judgments. Les also notes verse 15, where this religious leader had power to give life to the image of the beast. He connects this to modern technology, mentioning reports about a Japanese biological computer using living biological cells and an electronic explosion in which television becomes the center of incoming and outgoing information. Les suggests the image will be the brainwork of technology, able to think, speak, give orders, and have tremendous power.
