What happens after the midpoint of the tribulation concerning the Antichrist's power?
At the midpoint of the seven-year tribulation, the Antichrist is given power to continue for another three-and-a-half years, or 42 months. He also causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease, makes the temple desolate, and all that is determined is poured out upon him by the end.
Les explains that the Antichrist makes his appearance at the beginning of the seven years, and Revelation 13:5 says power is given unto him to continue. That means he is allowed to carry on for three-and-a-half years, 42 months. This verse brings us to the midpoint of the tribulation, where he is given power to continue on for another three-and-a-half years. In the middle of the week, at the end of three and a half years, he causes the sacrifice and oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he makes the temple desolate until the consummation, the end of the seven years. All that is determined is poured out upon the desolator, this man Antichrist. This is the seven-year period Revelation deals with, and prophecy declared it will happen.
And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
