What did Les say is happening in Western Europe in the present age?
Western Europe is coming together more and more as a United States of Europe. This is the revival of the ancient Roman Empire, the fourth dreadful empire Daniel saw. Though it seemed dead for nearly 2,000 years, it is returning full force, and the world wonders and is amazed.
Les explains that Western Europe is coming together more and more as a United States of Europe. He connects this to Daniel’s vision of the residue of the ancient Babylonian, Median, Persian, Greek, and Roman empires coming back together in a revival of the fourth dreadful and terrible empire, which was Rome. Les points to the verse where one of the beast’s heads was wounded to death, its deadly wound was healed, and all the world wondered after this beast, this empire. He says this is a revival of an empire that existed almost 2,000 years ago, was dead and seemingly off the scene, yet is coming back full force, and the world is amazed. He also contrasts this with Europe 50 years ago after World War II, when its great cities were heaps of rubble and its industry was destroyed, then asks where they are tonight.
