Les Feldick Bible Study

How did Les describe European society before World War II?

European society before World War II was described as being just as rotten and ready as society is today. The description followed the observation that Europe, once aflame with the Word of God after the Reformation, had declined down, down, down.

Les explains that after the Reformation, Europe was aflame with the Word of God, and great men of God covered all of Europe. But then Europe went the same track—down, down, down—until, as he told someone who didn't believe him, society in Europe prior to World War II was 'as rotten and ready as we are today.' He sees this as part of a recurring pattern where nations or empires begin with a high level of spirituality and knowledge of God but degenerate, just as Israel declined until God said there was no remedy.
