What will be found inside the revived Roman empire?
According to the prophetic vision, inside the revived Roman empire will be found all the residue of the previous three great world empires: the Greek (leopard), the Medo-Persian (bear), and the Babylonian (lion). Daniel's fourth beast also has ten horns.
Les explains that John, writing in Revelation 13, does not list the Roman beast because he is speaking from a time when the Roman empire is already back on the scene. Instead, John begins with the Greek leopard, then goes backward to the Medo-Persian bear and the Babylonian lion. Within the revived Roman empire, all the residue of these previous three great world empires will be visible. In Daniel 7:7, this fourth empire is described as dreadful, terrible, with iron teeth, diverse from all before it, and having ten horns. These four empires are the ones the Bible concerns itself with as the times of the Gentiles.
And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
