What will you see inside the revived Roman empire described in Revelation 13?
Inside the revived Roman empire of Revelation 13, you will see the residue of the three previous world empires: the Greek leopard, the bear representing the Median and Persian empire, and the Babylonian lion. John begins with the leopard because the Roman empire is already back on the scene, so he does not list it separately.
Les teaches that Revelation 13 does not list the Roman beast because John is speaking from the time when the Roman empire is already back on the scene. Within this revived Roman empire, all the residue of the previous three great world empires will be seen. Going backward from Rome, Revelation 13:2 shows the Greek leopard, then the Median and Persian bear, and then the Babylonian lion. These four empires are the ones the Bible concerns itself with as the times of the Gentiles. Daniel 7:7 then describes the reappearance of that ancient Roman empire that had fallen in on itself, the fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, with iron teeth and ten horns.
