How and when does the Lord destroy the Antichrist?

The Lord destroys the Antichrist at the end of the seven-year tribulation. After the church is removed and the hindering Holy Spirit’s indwelling role ends, the man of sin is revealed. Then the Lord consumes him with the spirit of His mouth and destroys him with the brightness of His coming.

Les explains that the mystery of iniquity was already working, going back to the Tower of Babel, but the one who hinders will hinder until he is taken out of the way. Les teaches this hindering force is the Holy Spirit in the person of the believer, removed at the departure when the church is removed. Once the church is gone, the Holy Spirit’s indwelling role ends, though He remains omnipresent during the tribulation. Then the wicked one, the Antichrist, is revealed, and the Lord consumes him with the spirit of His mouth at the end of the seven years, destroying him with the brightness of His coming.

2 Thessalonians 2:8
