How does the Antichrist come to power?

The Antichrist rises through flatteries and political manipulation, not military conquest. He promises the world and Israel everything they long to hear, guarantees Israel's borders and sovereignty, and enhances their return to temple worship. The world sees him as the answer to all dilemmas and welcomes him with open arms.

Les explains that the white horse rider in Revelation 6:2, who has a bow but no arrows, equates to Daniel's description of the Antichrist. He comes on the scene with flatteries and political manipulation, not military force. He promises everything the world and the nation of Israel are waiting to hear: he will guarantee Israel's borders and sovereignty, and actually enhance their return to temple worship. Israel will have the temple back for the first three and a half years. The world will think he is the answer to all their dilemmas and perplexities, and they will welcome him with open arms.
