In Revelation 5:7, who takes the scroll from the One sitting on the throne?

The Lion of the tribe of Judah, Israel’s King, the King of kings, and the Son of God—the One crucified, risen, and ascended—takes the scroll from the right hand of the One seated on the throne. The context identifies that One as God the Father.

Les explains that Revelation 5:7 identifies the One taking the scroll as the Lion of the tribe of Judah, Israel’s King, the King of kings, the Son of God, the One who was crucified, rose, and ascended. He takes the scroll out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne. Les teaches that this requires bringing the Trinity into view, placing God the Father on the throne in this case, because Christ is not on the throne tonight. Earlier, the elder told John not to weep because the Lion of Judah, the Root of David, had prevailed and was able to open the scroll. The Lamb in verse 6 is also described as slain, with seven horns and seven eyes, the seven spirits seen in Isaiah 11.
