Les Feldick Bible Study

Why did God create everything according to this teaching?

According to this teaching, God created everything for His own eternal purpose: that all things would redound to His glory. That purpose and grace were given in Christ Jesus before the ages began, not according to human works, and believers become recipients of His grace and mercy through simple faith in the gospel.

Les explains from 2 Timothy 1:9 that salvation and calling are not according to our works but according to God’s own purpose and grace, given us in Christ Jesus before the ages began. He describes this as the eternal purpose of the Creator God: He created everything for His own purpose, which was that everything would redound to His glory. Les notes that we work into that purpose by being recipients of His grace and mercy, made partakers of it all by simple faith in the gospel. He adds that this is past finding out and past human understanding, but the Bible teaches it and we better believe it. He then returns to 1 Corinthians 15, where repetition drives home the resurrection from the dead.
