Did the universe just happen or evolve, or was it created by God?
The universe did not just happen or evolve; it was created by God. Scripture declares Him worthy because He created all things, and for His pleasure they are and were created. He is the eternal sovereign God of the universe, the Creator.
Les explains that in this passage the four and twenty elders fall down and worship Him who sat on the throne, saying, "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory, and honor, and power," because "Thou hast created all things." Les emphasizes that everything was created by the Creator—it did not just happen or evolve—and for His pleasure they are and were created. He also stresses reading every word and keeping verses in context, noting these verses describe the twenty-four elders casting their crowns, not necessarily believers.
Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
