Who will be changed at the rapture?
At the rapture, every believer will be changed—not only the most spiritual or devoted, but all believers. They will not all die physically; instead, their bodies will be instantly transformed into a new, glorious body, leaving behind clothes and material goods.
Les explains that “we shall not all sleep,” meaning not all will die a physical death, but “we shall all… be changed.” He stresses this includes every believer, not just the most spiritual or devoted. The change happens “in a twinkling of an eye,” which he understands as down to the smallest part of time—instantly, not merely a blink. He illustrates it with the metamorphosis of a butterfly: an ugly cocoon with an ugly worm becomes a beautiful butterfly. Likewise, believers in this old ugly frame of dust will receive a new, glorious body. No dead body will be seen, only clothes and material goods left behind.
