Les Feldick Bible Study

What will happen to dead believers at the Rapture?

At the Rapture, believers who have died physically will be raised incorruptible. At the last trump, when the trumpet sounds, the dead—those who died as believers in Christ—shall be raised with a resurrected body like His. This change happens in a moment, the smallest divisible portion of time, as all believers are changed.

Les explains that Paul writes this to Gentile believers who are not under the Law but under grace and are members of the Body of Christ. In 1 Corinthians 15, Paul reveals the mystery that not all will sleep, or die physically, but all will be changed. Whether believers have died or remain alive at the time, they will receive a resurrected body—a new body like Christ's resurrected body. Les illustrates that this body could move at the speed of light, pass through a wall without a door, eat fish on the seashore, and then suddenly be gone; studying Christ's 40 days after His resurrection gives an inkling of it. At the last trump, when the trumpet sounds, the dead—those who have died as believers in Christ—shall be raised incorruptible. This happens in a moment, not a 60-second minute but the smallest divisible portion of time, in the twinkling or blink of an eye. Les teaches the Rapture, or outcalling of the believer, has always been imminent, and believers should be prepared for the Lord's sudden coming.

1 Corinthians 15:52

In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
