What does the Bible say happens to millions of people at the rapture?
Scripture teaches that at the rapture millions of believers will suddenly be gathered in the atmosphere and go back with Christ into heaven. Not all will die physically, but all will be changed. It is the out-calling or rapture of the church, revealed as a mystery to Paul and now to be believed.
Les explains that he cannot fully envision millions of people suddenly congregating in the atmosphere and then going back with Christ into heaven, but he asks what the book says and concludes it says exactly that, so he believes it even though he cannot comprehend it. He teaches that this is a mystery or secret revealed to the apostle Paul, but now it is no longer a secret and we are to believe it. Paul writes, 'Behold, I show you a secret. We shall not all sleep or die physically, but we shall all be changed.' Les connects this with 1 Thessalonians chapter 4, saying Paul is talking about the same thing, what is called the outcalling or the rapture of the church. The qualification is to believe that Jesus died and rose again, and believers who have died are asleep but will be part of that great company soon called out of here.
