For how long will God protect the Jewish remnant in the mountains?
God will protect the Jewish remnant in the mountains for the entire three and a half years. This remnant, drawn from every category of life, flees Jerusalem to the mountains, and their God watches over them throughout that period of tribulation.
Les explains that the escaping remnant is not the whole nation but a remnant of Jews from every category of life. They will flee the area of Jerusalem down to the mountains, which are predominantly to the southwest of Jerusalem. Whether it is the city of Petra or what, Les does not know, but it is possible. Their God is going to watch over them and protect them for that whole three and a half years. This occurs during the tribulation period, and Les notes that the last three and a half years will be especially tough, with both Satan's wrath and God's wrath poured out on the whole human race.
