How will God supernaturally protect the fleeing Jewish remnant during the tribulation?

God will supernaturally protect the fleeing Jewish remnant for three and a half years in the wilderness, likely the mountains of Moab or ancient Petra. He will sustain them as He did Israel under Moses—shoes and clothes not wearing out, no hunger or thirst—and provide escape via two wings of a great eagle from the serpent.

Les explains that the Jewish remnant will finally flee from the area of Jerusalem to the mountains, probably the mountains of Moab and the ancient city of Petra. For three and a half years God will protect them there, even in their unbelief. He will care for them much as He did the Jews under Moses in the wilderness for forty years: their shoes and clothes did not wear out, they never went hungry or thirsty, and God provided everything. Les says God will again provide everything. In verse 14, the fleeing remnant—called the woman—is given two wings of a great eagle so she can fly into the wilderness to her place and be nourished for a time, times, and half a time, three and a half years, safe from the face of the serpent. Les points back to Exodus 19 to note that Israel did not literally sprout wings or get picked up by an air force, though he begins to ask how they did leave.
