Will the Antichrist take power by violence or peaceably?

Scripture indicates the Antichrist will rise peaceably, not by violent overthrow. He will come in with subterfuge, intrigue, and political maneuvering, obtaining rule through flattery, saying what people want to hear, and signing a treaty with Israel before later turning on them.

Les explains that Daniel 11:21 describes this end-time individual as a vile person who does not receive the honor of a king through a great landswell of voting. Instead, he comes in peaceably, without a violent overthrow, using political maneuvering, intrigue, and flattery to bring himself to the top. He says what people want to hear and gets away with it because lying is his very makeup. He will sign a treaty with Israel promising peace and prosperity, but then turn on them and bring violent pressure upon them (Daniel 11:22). Later, Daniel 11:36 says this king shall do according to his will.

Daniel 11:21

And in his estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by flatteries.
