How will the Antichrist gain power to make the peace treaty with Israel?
He will gain it as a charismatic political manipulator, used by Satan to fulfill satanic aspirations. Though an ordinary flesh-and-blood man born of woman, much like Judas, he will command attention at summit meetings, manipulate people, and thereby bring himself to the place of having power to make the peace treaty with Israel.
Les explains that the Antichrist will gain this power not by supernatural force but as an ordinary human being—born of woman, flesh and blood—though much like Judas, used of Satan to fulfill all satanic aspirations. He will come on the scene as a tremendous political manipulator and a charismatic individual with the ability to manipulate people. He will be able to walk into almost any summit meeting, command their attention, and they will listen to him. Consequently, he will bring himself to the place of having the power of making that peace treaty with Israel in the Middle East. Les also notes that some people think the current peace treaty is the one from Daniel 9:25, but he considers it merely an agreement to agree or disagree that may not hold long. By the time the Antichrist returns to his headquarters, likely somewhere in Europe, other things will be taking place at the opening days of the seven years, including the two witnesses in Jerusalem, the witness of Jehovah God to Israel, and permission for the temple to be built.
