Why is Revelation not just a bunch of myths and stories?
Revelation is not a collection of myths because its contents are intrinsically fitted together, not randomly assembled. The vision shows the Son receiving an eternal dominion and kingdom from the Ancient of Days, a coherent plan that continues through Satan’s brief release into the new heaven and new earth.
Les explains that Revelation chapter 5 is interesting and beautifully put together. When people say it is just a bunch of myths and stories, that bothers him because the material is so intrinsically fitted together. The same fitted-together flow appears in the vision of God the Son coming before God the Father, the Ancient of Days, and being given dominion, glory, and a kingdom. That kingdom shall not pass away or be destroyed; it will destroy the Gentile empires that have been in human history for 2,600 years. Though it will be interrupted when Satan is released for a little while, it continues into the new heaven and the new earth.
And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals.
