Why does the Son come before God the Father in Daniel 7?

The Son comes before the Ancient of Days, God the Father, to be given dominion, glory, and a kingdom. This happens as He is about to return to earth, smite the Gentile empires, destroy them, and establish His eternal kingdom that shall not be destroyed.

Les explains that in this scene God the Father is sitting on the throne, and God the Son comes before Him, brought before the Ancient of Days. The purpose is that there was given Him dominion and glory, and a kingdom. Les teaches this is God the Son coming before God the Father as He is about to return to earth and smite the Gentile empires that have been on human history for 2,600 years. He will destroy them, they disappear from view, and He sets up His kingdom, a dominion which shall not pass away, it's eternal. Les notes it will be interrupted again when Satan is released for a little while, but then comes the new heaven and the new earth, and the kingdom continues on into eternity. His kingdom shall not be destroyed; there He has His rule and reign.
