Who gives the Antichrist his power, throne, and authority?
The dragon, Satan, gives the Antichrist his power, his throne, and his authority. This Antichrist heads the final Roman Empire, a consortium of nations described as a beast with seven heads and ten horns, and he receives Satan's own power to rule.
Les explains that the dragon, Satan, gives the Antichrist—the head of the final Roman Empire—his power, his throne, and his authority. The beast is a consortium of nations, an empire with seven heads and ten horns, not a literal creature. Les connects this to Daniel's vision, where Greece is a leopard, the Medes a bear, and Babylon a lion; John sees the same context. The deadly wound healed is, in Les's view, the Roman Empire collapsing and then reviving, which he relates to Western Europe as a revived Roman Empire.
