Where does the Antichrist come from?
The Antichrist comes up out of the common market of Europe, out of the nations that come together. From a group now of twelve, possibly fourteen or fifteen, they will drop back to ten, and out of those ten he will arise and usurp power.
Les explains that the Antichrist does not come in with military might or by fighting wars. Instead, he comes peaceably and with flattery. He is a political maneuverer and a charismatic individual. He gets his ducks in a row peaceably, without needing to use ammunition, though he may have the threat of power behind him, such as western Europe's NATO. He hasn't yet come to actual military power as his command. A crown is given to him, and the world will recognize him as the leader. Les emphasizes that he comes up out of the common market of Europe, from those nations that come together. They may currently be twelve, possibly go to fourteen or fifteen, but they will drop back to ten, and out of those ten he will come up and usurp the power.
