Does the European community currently have the same connection to Israel that Daniel's previous empires had?
No. The European community, described as the revived Roman Empire, as yet does not have the same relationship with Israel that Daniel’s previous empires had. Those earlier Gentile empires included the land of Palestine and Jerusalem, while America is mostly keeping the little nation going now. The Antichrist will later come from that old Roman Empire area.
Les explains that the earlier empires—all Gentile—each had Israel connected to them, and every one included the land of Palestine and the city of Jerusalem. But the iron and clay, the ten toes of the European community, as yet do not have that kind of relationship with Israel. Instead, it is mostly America that is keeping the little nation going. Les also notes that the Antichrist will come out of the geographical area of the old Roman Empire, perhaps Western Europe, though others think the Middle East or Mediterranean. He will come peaceably and with flatteries, and Europe today has turmoil, ethnic, immigrant, political, and economic problems.
