How is Nebuchadnezzar's golden image tied to the Antichrist?
Nebuchadnezzar's golden image prefigures the Antichrist because both compel the known world to worship a single image centered on the ruler himself. Nebuchadnezzar sought to unite pagan religions under one image, and the last great world ruler, the Antichrist, will do the same.
Les explains that Nebuchadnezzar's dream likely acted as a catalyst for what he does in chapter 3. Having forgotten what Daniel had said, Nebuchadnezzar became filled with his own power and wanted to unite all those pagan religions into worship of one image, which would be of himself. The image was enormous: sixty cubits, about ninety feet high, and six cubits, about nine feet wide. He set it on the Middle Eastern desert sands and demanded that his whole then-known world worship it. Les then says the last great world ruler, the Antichrist, is going to do the same thing, and that is what ties it together; he points ahead to Revelation for the parallel.
