What was Israel's prospective role according to Les?
Israel's prospect was to function as priests and a holy nation, providing the opportunity to bring all Gentile nations to a knowledge of their God. The nations would take hold of a Jew's skirt and say they would go with them because God was with them.
Les teaches that Israel’s prospective role was priestly and representative: they could have been priests and a holy nation, with the opportunity to bring all the Gentile nations to a knowledge of their God. He points to the prophecy that ten men from all languages of the nations would take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew and say, “We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” Les then directs attention back to Isaiah 2:2, where God says the mountain or kingdom of the Lord’s house will be established in the top of the mountains, exalted above the hills, and all Gentile nations will flow unto it.
