What was Israel's prospective role among the nations?
Israel was prospectively called to serve as priests and a holy nation, with the opportunity to bring all Gentile nations to the knowledge of their God. The nations would take hold of a Jew's skirt and say, 'We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.' All nations would flow to the Lord's house.
Les explains that this was Israel's prospect: they could have been priests, a holy nation, and had the opportunity of bringing all the Gentile nations to a knowledge of their God. The nations would take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, out of all languages, and say, 'We will go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.' Les then points back to Isaiah chapter 2, verse 2, where God speaking through the prophet says it shall come to pass in the last days of this prophetic program that the mountain or kingdom of the Lord's house will be established in the top of the mountains, exalted above the hills. All nations, Gentile nations, shall flow unto it.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts; In those days it shall come to pass, that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you.
