Who does God hold responsible to keep the Antichrist from appearing before his time?

God leaves the responsibility to keep the timing aspect on track—so the man of sin, the Antichrist, does not come on the scene before it is time—with born-again believers. That responsibility rests with you and I as believers, who are urged to pray without ceasing.

Les teaches that in these final days and hours, the world system is getting ready for the man of sin, the Antichrist, but God has left the responsibility to keep the timing aspect on track so he does not come on the scene before it is time. Les thinks God leaves it with you and I as born-again believers, and this is another reason believers should be praying extra hard. He then turns to 2 Thessalonians 2:3, where Paul says that day shall not come except there come a falling away first—an apostasy or departure of the saints—so the Antichrist is not going to appear before the church is gone. Verses 4-5 describe the man of sin opposing and exalting himself above all that is called God or worshipped, sitting in the temple of God and showing himself that he is God, and Paul reminds them he had told them these things.
