Why does our nation need prayer right now?
Our nation needs prayer right now because of the day and the age in which we are living. Prayer is how believers bring anything and everything to God, trusting that whether He answers yes, no, or later, it is in His care and He will provide all that is needed, granting peace that passes understanding.
Les explains that we are living in a day when our nation needs our prayers as never before, simply because of the day and age in which we live. He ties that urgency to the believer's access to God: whether God says yes, no, or later, we can come away with complete tranquility, knowing everything is in His care and that He will provide anything and everything we may need. In crisis, we are to run to those promises, claim them, and thank God for what He is going to do, knowing we have the peace of God that passes all understanding. He then moves toward 1 and 2 Thessalonians to address believers who were under intense persecution.
