Why didn't Satan's offer of the kingdoms trick Jesus?
Satan's offer did not deceive Jesus because Jesus knew the kingdoms of this world would one day be His without any act of worship to Satan. Though Satan held dominion and could offer them, Jesus understood His future possession required no compromise.
Les explains that Satan is the god of this world and has total dominion, so the kingdoms and glory shown to Jesus were genuinely his to give. Yet the temptation failed because Jesus knew that one day He would have them anyway. He did not have to fall down and worship Satan to obtain them.
