Is En Gedi a real place and does it still exist today?
En Gedi is presented as a real place: a very little village located right on the shores of the Dead Sea. The context states that it is still there today. Prophetically, it marks a starting point for fishermen standing on the Dead Sea when the river brings healing and fish.
Les teaches that Ezekiel 47 is prophecy spoken in symbolism. A river comes out from underneath the sanctuary at Jerusalem, and when the Kingdom is set up and Christ has returned, the waters reach the Dead Sea and are healed. The fishermen will stand upon the Dead Sea from En Gedi. Les explains that En Gedi is a very little village still there on the shores of the Dead Sea, and he notes that the fish will be very many, according to their kinds, like the fish of the great sea, the Mediterranean.
And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from Engedi even unto Eneglaim; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
