How will the false prophet cause people to worship the Antichrist?
The false prophet, a religious leader empowered by the first beast, will use religious authority, satanic inspiration, great wonders, and miracles—including calling fire down from heaven—to deceive humanity and cause the world to worship the Antichrist, the political leader. As a counterfeit Holy Spirit, he redirects worship toward the counterfeit Son.
Les explains that the false prophet exercises all the power of the first beast, the political Antichrist, and works hand in glove with him. Under the cloak of religion but inspired by Satan, this religious leader causes the mass of humanity to worship the first beast. Les ties this to Revelation’s counterfeit trinity: Satan counterfeits God the Father, the Antichrist counterfeits God the Son, and the false prophet counterfeits the Holy Spirit. Just as the Holy Spirit today draws people to God the Son, this counterfeit spirit draws people to worship the Antichrist. He performs great wonders, makes fire come down from heaven in the sight of men, and deceives earth’s inhabitants by the miracles he has power to do.
