How is the second beast related to the Antichrist?
The second beast is the false prophet, a religious leader who exercises the first beast’s power and causes humanity to worship the first beast, the Antichrist. As a counterfeit of the Holy Spirit, he directs worship to the Antichrist, the counterfeit Son, working hand in glove with him.
Les explains that Revelation presents a counterfeit trinity: Satan counterfeits God the Father, the Antichrist (the first beast, the political leader) counterfeits God the Son, and the second beast—the false prophet or religious leader—counterfeits the Holy Spirit. Just as the Holy Spirit draws people to God the Son, this religious leader, under Satan’s inspiration and the cloak of religion, exercises the first beast’s power and causes the mass of humanity to worship the Antichrist. He performs great wonders, even making fire come down from heaven, and deceives earth’s inhabitants by miracles, working hand in glove with the Antichrist.
