What did the manna represent for Israel?

Manna represented Israel’s elementary beginnings and weakness during their forty years in the wilderness. It was their sustenance until they crossed Jordan, were circumcised, celebrated Passover, and ate the old corn of Canaan, at which point the manna stopped for the nation.

Les explains that the manna was part of Israel’s elementary stage, their beginnings, and their weakness. For forty years they ate manna in the wilderness. After they crossed the river Jordan, were circumcised, and celebrated the Passover, they ate the old corn of the land of Canaan. At that point the manna stopped. Les also teaches that everything in the Old Testament has a New Testament doctrine symbolically attached, and these events are a picture for us, such as coming through the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
