How long did manna sustain the house of Israel in the wilderness?

Manna sustained the house of Israel for 40 years in the wilderness. God rained bread from heaven for them, and it continued throughout their entire 40-year wilderness journey after they came out of Egypt. This provision tested whether they would walk in God's law.

Les explains that Israel lived on manna for 40 years, and God provided it as they came out of Egypt and all through their wilderness journey. He notes they eventually learned to cook manna in many ways to stomach the same food day after day. The manna also tested them whether they would walk in God's law, and before the law was given in Exodus 20, God instituted a double portion on the sixth day and the Sabbath rest. Les connects manna to Jesus as the bread of life.
