Who provided the manna for Israel?

The Lord God provided the manna for Israel. He told Moses He would rain bread from heaven for the people, and Israel lived on manna for forty years. Scripture presents this bread as God's provision, a daily test of obedience, and a picture of the true bread of life.

Les explains that in Exodus, after Israel murmured, the Lord told Moses, "Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you," and the people were to gather a certain rate every day so God could prove or test them, whether they would walk in His law or not. Les notes that Israel lived on manna for 40 years, learning to cook and fix it in various ways. He emphasizes that God provided, and the manna is the very bread of God, pointing practically to Jesus as the bread of life and the living water.
