What did God promise to give Abram's descendants when they became a nation?

In the Abrahamic covenant, God promised that Abram's descendants would become a distinct nation, a race unlike any before. When they became a nation, God promised to place them in a specific geographical area of land, which He later identified, and eventually He Himself would come in flesh as their Messiah and King.

Les explains that in Genesis 15, God had just called Abram out of Ur of the Chaldees in chapter 12 and given him the covenant. In that covenant, God promised Abram that out of him would come a nation, a race of people totally different from anything previously on the scene. When that race became a nation, God would put them in a geographical area of land, and He points out where that is in chapter 15. Les also notes that at some point in the future, God Himself would come in the flesh and be their Messiah and their King. This is the whole concept of the Abrahamic covenant.
