Les Feldick Bible Study

Why does this teacher reject knocking on doors and grabbing people to share the gospel?

Knocking on doors and grabbing people to share the gospel are rejected because the Lord does not work that way. Instead, believers should be ready for the opportunities God gives, then share the ministry of reconciliation as ambassadors, telling people God has done everything needed to reconcile them to Himself.

Les explains he has never advocated simply knocking on doors or grabbing people by the shirt collar and saying, "Hey, listen to me." He does not believe the Lord wants to work that way. Instead, as God gives opportunity—and He will—believers must be ready to jump on it. Paul says God has given us the ministry of reconciliation, so when opportunity comes we tell the person wrapped in Satan's web that God has done everything needed to set them free and reconcile them to Himself. Verse 19 says the whole triune God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses, and committed unto us the word of reconciliation. God left us here to be ambassadors, representatives in a strange land.
