Does God want Christians to evangelize by knocking on doors?
God does not want Christians to evangelize by simply knocking on doors or grabbing people by the shirt collar. Rather, as He gives opportunity, believers must be ready to act as ambassadors, sharing the ministry of reconciliation when God opens a door.
Les explains that he has never advocated simply knocking on doors or grabbing people by the shirt collar and saying, 'Hey, listen to me.' He does not believe the Lord wants to work that way. Instead, as God gives opportunity, believers must be ready to jump on it. Paul says God has given us the ministry of reconciliation: when we get the opportunity, we must tell the person wrapped in Satan's web that God has done everything needed to set them free and reconcile them to Himself. God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses, and has committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Why has God left us here? To be ambassadors—representatives of a government in a strange land.
