Where do we find the same 'Who made you a ruler over us?' challenge that was made to Moses?

The same challenge appears in the New Testament at Jesus' trial. When Jesus presented Himself as Israel's king, Israel asked, 'Who made you a ruler over us?' and told the Roman authorities, 'We have no king but Caesar.' This echoes Israel's rejection of Moses.

Les explains that the challenge to Moses in Exodus—'Who made thee a prince and a judge over us?'—should ring a bell because it reappears in the New Testament. When Jesus presented Himself as Israel's king, Israel asked the same question at His trial, 'Who made you a ruler over us?' and declared to the Roman authorities, 'We have no king but Caesar.' Les ties this together as groundwork, showing Israel rejected both Moses and their Messiah with the same defiant challenge.
