What did Moses do when God threatened to destroy Israel?
When God threatened to destroy Israel in His anger, Moses fell on his face before God and pleaded with Jehovah to spare the people. He interceded for almost thirty days, asking God not to let the Egyptians say their God had destroyed them in the wilderness.
Les teaches that God had every right in His righteousness to wipe Israel off the map and was ready, hot in His anger. God said He would destroy them all and start over with Moses. But Moses fell on his face before God and pleaded with Jehovah God for almost thirty days, asking Him to spare these people and not let the Egyptians say their God destroyed them in the wilderness. Les explains God spared Israel on the basis of mercy alone, withdrawing into His sovereignty and pouring out mercy.
