Les Feldick Bible Study

Why should parents keep communication open with their straying children?

Parents should keep communication open because children trained in the Word may stray during youthful years, but what they learned under their parents' roof can later ring a bell. As they mature, even in their 30s, they may return to those precepts, and God is able to bring them back.

Les teaches that parents should never give up on straying children. Even when children have been trained and know the Word, they may wander during youthful years, but God will bring them back. He says he has seen this happen over and over. When these kids reach maturity, perhaps in their 30s, they suddenly realize Mom and Dad weren't so dumb after all and come back. So he tells parents not to cut the lines of communication, because what they picked up under their roof will someday ring a bell, and they will return to those precepts.
