Who ended up with the upper hand between Jacob and Laban?

Jacob ended up with the upper hand over Laban. Though Laban hoodwinked him just as many times as Jacob got the better of Laban, Jacob still came out ahead. After twenty years in Haran, he possessed the best flocks, herds, children, and grandchildren, returning to Canaan with a large caravan.

Les explains that Jacob spent twenty years with Laban in Haran. Laban hoodwinked Jacob, but Jacob also got the better of Laban multiple times. Ultimately, Jacob still ended with the upper hand. Les notes that Jacob possessed the best flocks and the best herds, along with all the children and grandchildren, and he came back with quite a caravan. This return from Haran marked the end of his twenty-year stint with Laban and set the stage for the twelve tribes of Israel.
