Why are people turned off by Christianity today?
People are turned off by Christianity because they are destitute of faith. They no longer believe the Word of God. They have become so intellectual and scientifically minded that they demand proof, but God does not have to prove anything; He is sovereign and has spoken, expecting mankind to believe.
Les explains that the same principle applies today as with Esau: without faith it is impossible to please God (Hebrews 11:6). The reason people are turned off by Christianity and want nothing to do with spiritual things is that they are destitute of faith. They can no longer believe that this is the Word of God. They have become so intellectual and scientifically minded that they say, unless you can prove some of these things, I just can't believe it. But God doesn't have to prove anything. God is sovereign. God has spoken it, and He has every right to expect mankind to believe it. Consequently, if we haven't got faith, there is no way we can please Him. Even if someone is morally good, like Esau may have been, God cannot use them without faith.
